Scooter Braun, who had unofficially stepped back from managing top artists like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande two years ago, has now made it official. On Monday, Braun announced his retirement from artist management to focus on his role as CEO of HYBE America, the company that acquired his Ithaca Holdings in 2021, and to spend more time with his family. He shared the news in a detailed statement nearly 1,400 words long.
Braun’s career took off in the late 2000s with Justin Bieber and later expanded to include Ariana Grande and several other artists. By age 40, he and his SB Projects company had achieved significant success, propelling multiple artists to stardom. One of his notable accomplishments was organizing the “One Love Manchester” charity concert in just two weeks. This event, featuring Grande, Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Mac Miller, Miley Cyrus, and others, was held in response to the 2017 terrorist bombing outside a Grande concert that resulted in 22 deaths.
